A PERSONAL NOTE - 22 NOVEMBER 2023
I write this after a year of great upheaval. I have moved house, moved countries, set up my business base as the UK again and most importantly, lost a parent. I say this to explain my lack of focus on business and, particularly, my loss of energy to create podcasts. I may or may not begin them again.
For now, know that I am open for business and studying hard to obtain my MCC (Master Certified Coach) in 2024. Welcome to my website - it continues to be a work in progress, like me!
I have been on this journey since my move to France and reinvention from employee to autonomy. There have been many challenges and successes and I am grateful for the many, many people who have helped me along the way. Relationships are at the heart of everything I do.
So why Leadership?
Why indeed. For most of my life I saw leaders as big characters, mostly male, dominant and great in a crisis. They looked like Churchill, Ghandi, and Mandela not people like me - a girl from North Notts! I remember becoming part of the Senior Leadership Group in the Legal Services Commission and as we went through a new programme, another woman and I spoke about our discomfort with the word 'leadership'. We both agreed that we were good managers but we didn't associate ourselves with leadership. See more...

LEADERSHIP
Leadership can be a lonely business, especially when you are working on leading yourself, the hardest person to lead and motivate. Personal development is a you and you deal but it is more effective when you don't try to do it alone. Many people have been where you are now and you can shorten your journey by being in a group with like-minded people, such as the Mastermind groups I run. These are small, confidential, weekly online meetings around specific topics/books/articles all designed to inspire your next step for the week. |
SPEAKING
My first steps onto a bigger stage, well in fact any stage, were taken in 2012 at the John Maxwell Conference. I occasionally watch this to remind myself of where I came from and where I want to go.
